ER visit
This past Wednesday, I took Iain to the ER because he was running a fever of 101.6. I had called his doctor to see if I could get an appointment so that they could see him, the only time they had open was 3pm. That was too late for us, he needed to see a doctor and fast.
We took Iain into the ER. When he the nurse took his temp it was 102.4, the poor little guy was in so much pain. The ER doctor ordered two tests, just to rule out the flu and RSV (both come back negative, thank goodness). The doctor than checked his ears to see if it was an ear infection. While it turned out that it was a viral ear infection. Basically, that means there was no pose behind the ear dumb but that there was swelling and fluid in the ear dumb. We were given drops for his ears and told to give him Motrin. We were instructed to give him Tylenol four after we got home (basically ever 8hours Iain was getting either Motrin or Tylenol) and every 2 hours that he was awake, we were to put drops in his ears and as often as needed to suction his nose. (Needless to say he was not a happy boy).
When the nurse weighted him when we were admitted to the ER, we found out that Iain weighted 22lbs 4oz.
