Waitting to sign a lease...

So Brian found us an apartment. Its 15minutes from the base. Which means Brian was able to attended the ward that we will live in the bounders of. We are going to be the newest members of Hondo Pass Ward of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Brian is going to see if the apartment complex has a 4 bedroom because he said he thought that he read somewhere that it did. But if not there is a 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom with a washer and dryer. We are just trying to get all the paper work together so that we can get the ball rolling. He won't be able to come out here to get us till he is done with in processing which could take up to another week (or more) than he has to wait till he gets the all clear for the DDY leave. So we are looking at August till we are together again. And can start setting up our home together. But the best part is Iain will finally have his own room for the very first time. I actually get to decorate a room for my little boy. Its not the nursery that I wish I had been able to do for him but a big boy room. He says he wants a Thomas the Tank Engine room. Maybe one day I'll get to decorate a nursery. I'm just so ready to have our stuff out of boxes and out where we (and our guests can see it). Decorating our home the way I want to. I'm really looking forward to it.

Totally late as always for everything

I swear no matter how early Brian and I get up we cannot get anywhere on time or early. We have 1pm church and we still end up leaving at quarter till 2pm. One of these days we will be there on time but for now I'll have to deal with us being late. When you live with your in-laws and their 18 year old son (who likes to take 2 hour showers/baths) there just isn't enough hot water for all of us to have a hot shower. But when you have a baby that hardly sleeps because of all the noise in the house (from said teenager), we as the sleep deprived parents need HOT showers to function for the day. Brian and I liked to read our scriptures and say our morning prayers (this is basically the only time that we have alone time without being accused of being anti-family) before we leave our room at 9am on Sundays. So you would think that since everyone is normally up really early on Sundays that they could/would take a shower earlier than that. But no, everyone waits till Brian and I want to go and get ready. So, I'll just have to deal with ALWAYS being late for our church meetings.

Favorite Songs

There are two songs that Iain loves me to sing over and over again at bed time each and every night. And they are Hush Little Baby and A Child's Prayer. Anyone know all the verses to Hush Little Baby. I know I don't know all of them and I need some more verses to sing at night. Hopefully, he will let Brian and I sing other songs as he gets older.

Food Poisoning

So, Brian has food poisoning. All because he eat something at work the night before that one of his co-workers girlfriends made. Needless to say he will never eat something that I didn't make him again. We only went to the first hour of our church meetings. At least we were there to pay our tithing.

Iain fell

This morning Iain and I were playing on our bed and he crawled to the end of the bed. He than decided that he should crawl over my feet. Well, I didn't move fast enough to catch him and he went over the side of our bed and hit the floor. He had this look of complete shock on his sweet face, the mommy didn't catch me face. Only when I stood up to get him did he start crying and screaming. An hour after he fell he was all smiles and laughing at everything. Brian checked him to make sure nothing was broken and that he was okay. Iain was fine. I'm sure that this won't be the last time he falls off and gets scared and hurt. He is learning how to do things. On a better note...Iain has gotten better had pulling himself up and taking his hands away from his support and standing all by himself for a few seconds anyway. He loves to eat everything that we feed him (yeah us for not having a picky eater). Loves to be read to and to be sang to. He also loves to be thrown. Learning to roll a ball. He can say bye-bye, dada, and mama (though he only says mama when he is upset and wants me or he will say it while he is in his crib, he likes to practice. It's kinda funny and way cute). We can't believe that our boy is almost 9 months old. The time as sure flown by fast. Before we know it he is going to be a one year old. And next October Iain gets to go into Nursery during church. We have a toddler on our hands. Iain is so very smart and active and he is only going to get smarter and more active. But we love him and are so blessed that he is part of our small family. We thank our Heavenly Father every day for bring Brian and I together. And that we were sealed in the temple for time and all eternity. Than for sending Iain to use (though it was a bit earlier than we had planned). I count my blessings every day for my loving husband and for my sweet baby boy.

We have 1pm church

There are so many reasons why I love having late church...

• For one getting up early has always been hard but it is even harder when your 8th month old son still gets up every 2-3 hours at night.
• I have more time to get ready for church...meaning I can actually dry and style my hair and even put make-up on. Which means that I don't look like a mommy who can't get her act together.
• We are actually on time if not early for our meetings. Yeah for us.

Reasons why its the pits...

• The beginning of church is are when Iain goes down for his second nap of the day.
• Iain is not happy and when he's like that he gets into mischief.
• It's also when Brian and I take our naps with Iain.
• I don't get as much done during the day.

So, we'll see how long Brian and I enjoy having our meetings at 1pm. So far it has been good but today was only the first Sunday of it.

Birthdays

Yesterday I turned 26, and it made me think about my many birthdays before this one, about how far I've come since my childhood, and how blessed I am. I didn't always have the best birthdays when I was a child. But looking back on them today I realize that they were the birthdays that I needed to have so that I could become the teenager that I would become. As a teenager, I was able to enjoy friends who were willing to throw birthday parties for me (with my help but I always thought that it was for someone else. Silly me). Those years showed me what kind of adult I wanted to become. Now that I've been an adult for a couple of years I'm glad that I have all these wonderful examples in my life. After I met the man that I was going to spend eternity with, birthdays took on a different feel, it was no longer all about me on my birthday I needed to think about my husband. I had responsibilities that I had to take care of everyday even on my birthday. Though Brian has always tried do everything, so that I was able to enjoy myself by being able to relax. I never wanted too. The year after we were married, we found out that I was pregnant and we were going to be parents. Birthdays were forever changed, they took on a new meaning. Because the year my son was born I knew I was going to be a mommy to a 7 month old and I was going to have to take care of his everyday needs. My birthday was not just about me this year and for all the years to came. I hope that as our son gets older that I can teach him what birthdays are really about. They aren't about what you get but the people that are around you to celebrate with you. I'm blessed to have my family, the family that I grew up with, and the family I married into; the gospel; a loving husband and a sweet son; and a loving Heavenly Father who sent me down to earth when He did and for all that he has given me and continues to give to my family and me. As we enter the Christmas season I hope to see past the gifts and all the worldly things, so that I can teach my son the true meaning of the season.

Trunk or Treat 2009

On Friday, October 30th, Marlene and I took Iain up to the church for his first Trunk or Treat. because of the snow it was moved inside. So everyone that was passing out candy was set up around the hall. And all the kids walked the hall way to trick or treat. The customs were so cute. And our ward have some very talented moms because they made their kids customs. Wow.

Together for 2 years

Brian and I have been married for two years now. I can't believe how much as changed for us and how much has stayed the same. I love him more today than I did a year ago and even more than the day I married him. Brian is the best husband and he is also my best friend. I'm so glad that we found our way to one an other. It took a few years to get to the alter but once we did it has been a wonderful start to our eternity. It may not be smooth sailing, we have hit our share of bumps but I wouldn't trade the last two years for anything because it is only the beginning, we have many years yet to live. Brian is a wonderful father to our sweet son. I can't believe how much having a child changes how you look at someone. When I look at Brian I see the love that he has for our son. And I know in my heart that I can't wait to give him more children. The love the shines from him is so wonderful. I know that he wouldn't change anything over the last two years of our life together. Things haven't all ways been the easiest for us but I know if we hold onto one another and stay true to the gospel and keep the covenants that we made on our wedding day that everything will turn out fine. I'm so glad that I married a man that could take me to the Temple to be married for all eternity and who has the priesthood. And who can still take me to the temple.

What will this month hold for us

Iain is 5months old as of yesterday. And he learned so much the last 4months that I'm excited to see what happens next. I'm also hoping that this next month brings so changes for Brian and I. We're hoping that these things happen:

• Brian finds a job
• He finishes the basement
• Brian gets his range back for vocal, horn, and french horn (so he can audition for the Army band the first week of November)
• Iain sleep for more than 3 hours at night

So just a few things we are praying for. And we could use your prayers as well. Thank you. Things we are thankful for:

So I'm quite thankful for our blessings.

Temples

I'm so grateful for temples. They truly are the house of the Lord. Being able to go to the temple and to know I'm worthy to enter the Lord's house and help with His work, is just amazing. I'm also thankful for eternal marriage. Not growing up being sealed to an eternal family wasn't always the easiest. Because I knew my family would be slit up after we passed from this life. So, when Brian asked me to marry him I was so excited because I know it would be for eternity. Now that we have a son we are adding to that eternal bond that Brian's family began so long ago. I hope that one day I will be able to seal my ancestors together, so that both sides of our families can be together forever.
